The Werks One intercooler upgrade for the Porsche 997 Turbo has been developed to enhance the vehicle’s performance. The highly efficient bar and plate design of the core allows for greater heat dispersion. A greater volume of air flow is achieved with the core being 30% larger than the factory design. The cast aluminum end tanks have been designed to provide maximum airflow with the least amount of restriction. The lower intake temperature from the upgrade provides the motor with less dense air, resulting in greater gains in performance. The entire system, along with the included silicone hoses has been fully designed in CAD to ensure proper fit for all components.
The Werks 1 air-to-air Intercooler-Core has dimensions of 3.5" X 8.5" X 14.5", compared to the Factory Intercooler Core and offers the following Advantages:
The Werks 1 Core is a Bar & Plate-Type design, compared to the Factory-Core which is Tube & Fin-Type Design and is built substantially stronger.
- It can be used for higher Boost-Pressures
- It is (dimensionally) more stable
- The Core has a 36% higher Volume; hence, the higher Weight offers a substantially higher "Heat-sink"-Capacity, benefiting the short-spurt-high-engine-output Operation
- The Core has a 40% higher Flow-Capacity, offering a higher thermal Efficiency and/or a lower Pressure-Loss (depending on the specific Flow-Rate)
- The Werks 1 intercooler, end tanks are cast aluminum to maximize flow and efficiency. The inlet end tank has 220% more volume while the outlet end tank has 75% more volume over the OE tanks.
