The popularity of our race-inspired
MM20 magnesium
centerlock wheel is the obvious inspiration behind the new RS20 Monolite. Nearly identical in design, the RS20 is essentially a forged aluminum version of the
MM20
with only a few very subtle differences due to the machining processes used to make each wheel. It shares the
MM20's
split 8-spoke design, centerlock mount, and strategic use of weight reduction throughout the whole wheel.
The RS20 also has many similarities with the rest of our monolite wheel line, particularly the detailed manufacturing process used to make each wheel. Each wheel starts as a single piece of A6061 aluminum, which is heat treated to T6 standards and then forged using an 8000 pound press. Once the shape of the wheel is formed in the press, the detail of each wheel is then cut using a precision CNC machining process. The final step in the process is applying our Brilliant Silver paint, which comes standard on all Champion Motorsport wheels. Custom finished are also available upon request.
