In 2005 Porsche introduced the next generation of 911, the 997. Purists rejoiced over the return of signature 911 round headlights, enthusiasts drooled over the 997’s powerful 3.6-liter engine, and both agreed that the 997 was a better car all around. Faster, more powerful, and still easily modified. Those who felt slightly deprived of power from the base Carrera’s 3.6L engine could choose from a wide array of aftermarket add-ons to boost output. The IPD intake plenum provides an instantly noticeable increase in performance. This simple bolt on plenum is a direct replacement for the factory “T” shaped unit. It features IPD’s signature “Y” shaped design and unique diversion splitter, which smoothes, accelerates, and efficiently directs the flow of air into the engine. Better airflow into the engine means more efficient combustion, and inevitably, more power. How much more power? Adding the IPD plenum will produce about 24 hp and 22 lb/ft of torque to be exact.
